About Us

Dr. A. K. Gupta consulting with a woman in the clinic

We are building a future where rabies is understood, prevented, and stopped.

We are a rabies education foundation committed to closing the knowledge and action gaps that allow a preventable disease to continue taking lives. We believe that the right information, delivered at the right time, can empower individuals and communities to recognise risk, respond to exposure, and take the steps needed to prevent rabies.

RABIESWORLDWIDE exists to close the gap — from every angle

We focus on the immediate window after a bite, when correct action matters most. We work to expand access to vaccination for both people and animals. And we provide clear, accessible resources so that anyone — from families to medical and veterinary professionals — can learn what they need to know about rabies, when they need it.

Our mission and values guide everything we do

Our mission

We don’t see rabies as a medical mystery — it’s a solved problem that hasn’t reached everyone yet. So our work isn’t about new treatments or research breakthroughs. It’s about delivery: making sure that what already works reaches the people who need it, in the window of time when it still can.

Our values

Every resource, program, and recommendation we provide is grounded in current medical evidence. But evidence only saves lives if people can actually use it — so we design everything around how real communities live, communicate, and make decisions.

We turn knowledge into action.

  • We create and share trusted, easy-to-understand information that helps people learn about rabies, its risks, and how it can be prevented.

  • We bring rabies into the conversation — helping individuals, families, and communities recognise the risks and understand the actions that can save lives.

  • We bring together people, professionals, organisations, and communities to share knowledge, strengthen prevention efforts, and work toward a common goal.

Founder - Dr. AK Gupta

It started with a belief that no one should die from rabies

RABIESWORLDWIDE began with a simple but powerful belief: rabies deaths should not be inevitable.

Our founder saw the gap between what the world already knows about rabies and what too many people still know, understand, or have access to when it matters most.

That gap became the reason to act.

What began as a commitment to make rabies better understood grew into RABIESWORLDWIDE — a foundation built to educate, connect, and inspire action around rabies prevention.

The vision was never simply to create another source of information. It was to build a platform that could bring reliable knowledge closer to people, encourage collaboration across communities and disciplines, and help turn prevention into everyday action.

Today, that original belief remains at the heart of everything we do:

Rabies can be prevented.
Rabies can be stopped.
And every life lost to rabies is one too many.
