Get timely PEP

As there is no specific treatment for clinical rabies, prompt administration of post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) after exposure to the rabies virus is essential for survival and prevention of the disease.

PEP Includes

  • Local treatment of wound(s)

  • Categorization of animal bite wound(s)

  • Anti Rabies Vaccination (ARV)

  • Administration of Rabies Immunoglobulin (RIG)

  • In addition, Tetanus prophylaxis, analgesics & systemic antibiotics may be given.
